When one opens ones self up to love is one not opening ones self up to a world of hurt with the last thing remaining being the hope that it will all be worth the torment? What do you think?

i could agree with your analogy, however if that is all that is to be ascertained, isn’t the idea of a true love, then an illusion?
in other words, i mean if you think that all your getting is the hurt then why go after something that you are sure will hurt, love, thus the hope that is left at the end in so does respectfully parallel “pandora’s box”, yet the woe’s that were released against humanity were pestilence and disease, equating those to the hurt in love is unwarranted and unrealistic, and having the love before the hope is also too, the hope should be sustained by the love and the love carried throughout with the hope, that yes love is worth the risk, even with the hurt, you never lose the love through the hope!
