how many years has the greek myth pandora and prometheus been told for?
i need this for a history assignment-due monday the 30th august thanks 
Boy – these are powerful old stories. For some reason a story gets made up and becomes a standard which can go on being told for centuries.
I’d have to say that these stories are as old as the Iliad which might go back into 1400 BCE.
Prometheus is about the coming of consciousness (fire) – he steals it from the gods and gives it to humans – for which he is punished. So it’s a story perhaps as old as human consciousness. Eating of the “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil” (for which Adam and Eve are against punished) is the same story of the arrival of consciousness for humans – and so the Prometheus myth might be as old as Genesis in the bible.
